From Confirmation to Calling: The Push I Needed

Updated: Jun 30

I had the ideas. I had the motivation. I even had the tools. But what didn’t I have? Direction. At least that’s what I thought.

For years, I talked about the vision — the dream. I carried it in my heart, mentioned it in conversations, prayed about it… But never moved on it. Then 2020 happened.

That January shook me in the best way. Complete strangers began walking up to me, saying, “The Lord sent me to tell you it’s your time to work.” I went on vacation, and in the middle of a concert, the artist stopped to preach — “Someone here needs to hear this!”

Days later, I received a random letter in the mail that said, “God is ready for you to stop sitting on your talents.”

Every single day that month, I waited for the next message… and without fail, it came. Confirmation after confirmation. I could feel it — God wasn’t playing with me. He was calling me out and into something greater.

Then came February 1st. I waited for another sign, but… nothing. By the end of the month, I sat down to dinner with a sister-friend who looked me in the eye and asked: “Have you made any progress since you started talking about this years ago?”

I told her about everything that happened in January. She leaned in and said, “Whoa. How much more confirmation do you need? I’m over here asking, and you’re over here receiving. I give you three months to get things up and running. Three.”

With tears in my eyes, I accepted the challenge. And from that moment forward, things started to flow.

Sometimes we think we’re waiting on a sign, when the truth is — the sign has already come. God’s just waiting on us to move.
